KT Rama Rao Inaugurates Mid-Day Meal Programme at Begumpet School

BRS working president KT Rama Rao visited the Swami Ramananda Tirtha Memorial School in Begumpet, Hyderabad, on Thursday, June 18, 2026, to inaugurate a new mid-day meal programme and distribute educational supplies to students. During the event, Rama Rao urged the school children to draw inspiration from the life and achievements of former Prime Minister late PV Narasimha Rao.
As part of his visit, Rama Rao distributed notebooks and school bags to the students. The newly inaugurated mid-day meal programme is being run under the auspices of the Talasani Trust. Following the inauguration, the BRS leader interacted with the students and joined them for lunch.
Addressing the gathering of students, teachers, and parents, Rama Rao highlighted PV Narasimha Rao’s scholarly accomplishments, noting that the former Prime Minister mastered 16 languages and left a lasting global legacy. He encouraged the students to set high goals and strive for academic excellence.
Rama Rao also assured future support for the school’s development, promising the construction of additional classrooms and a modern library. He recalled educational initiatives from the previous BRS administration, specifically referencing the Chief Minister’s Breakfast Scheme launched under former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, and stressed the importance of providing both quality education and nutritious food to students.
Sanathnagar MLA and BRSLP deputy leader Talasani Srinivas Yadav, whose trust runs the meal programme, stated that supporting students from economically weaker sections is a vital social responsibility. He affirmed that the Talasani Trust would continue to provide educational assistance and meals for the students.
MLC Surabhi Vani Devi, who is also the daughter of PV Narasimha Rao, emphasized the critical role of nutrition in child development. She recalled her father’s commitment to education, which contributed significantly to the growth of the residential and Navodaya school systems across India.
