KT Rama Rao Demands Probe Into Weaver Death in Sircilla, Hits Out at Congress

BRS working president KT Rama Rao on Wednesday demanded an impartial probe into the death of weaver Vengala Venkatesham during a visit to the family at B Y Nagar in Sircilla. Holding the ruling Congress responsible for indulging in murder politics, the opposition leader sought the identification of all perpetrators involved and demanded that they be brought to justice regardless of their political position.

Rama Rao visited Venkatesham's residence in B Y Nagar to console his wife, mother, and 11-year-old daughter. Speaking to media persons following the visit, the BRS leader stated that although some Congress leaders had been arrested in connection with the incident, he suspected they were merely acting as fronts and that the actual individuals responsible were yet to be identified. He stressed that common citizens must not be targeted or turned into victims for political benefits.

The BRS working president expressed strong reservations regarding the police handling of the investigation. He pointed out that while five individuals were reportedly arrested in the case, only two were placed in judicial remand while the remaining three were released on station bail. Rama Rao urged the police administration to conduct a thorough and transparent inquiry without bowing to any political influence, emphasizing the need to establish the complete facts amidst claims that the death was being framed as a suicide.

Highlighting the poor living conditions of the family, Rama Rao noted that Venkatesham's family had been waiting months for a response to their application for a new house. He informed reporters that he had raised the issue directly with the District Collector, asking the government to sanction a housing unit for the family. He added that if the state government did not construct a house, the BRS party would build one using its own resources.

To ensure long-term support for the family, Rama Rao announced a deposit of Rs 3 lakh in the name of Venkatesham’s 11-year-old daughter, who is a Class V student. He assured the family that he would personally take responsibility for bearing all her educational expenses going forward. The BRS leader also handed over immediate financial assistance to the bereaved family and reaffirmed his commitment to stand by them until full justice is delivered.
