Konda Murali, Rajgopal Reddy Meet Bhatti Vikramarka at Praja Bhavan

High political drama unfolded at Praja Bhavan in Hyderabad on Wednesday as Konda Murali, husband of Minister Konda Surekha, and Munugode Congress MLA Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy met Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka amid tensions over allegations of anti-party activities.

The development follows recent friction within the party concerning public remarks made against Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. The meeting at Praja Bhavan assumed significance as the TPCC disciplinary committee had submitted a report to TPCC president B. Mahesh Kumar Goud on Tuesday, recommending Surekha’s removal from the Cabinet for failing to condemn remarks made by her daughter, Konda Susmitha, against the Chief Minister.

The controversy was triggered after Susmitha publicly criticized Revanth Reddy for backing sitting MLA Revuri Prakash Reddy for the next election, questioning how the Chief Minister could announce a candidate when ticket distribution is decided by the party high command.

The simultaneous presence of ministers N. Uttam Kumar Reddy and D. Sridhar Babu at Praja Bhavan further fueled political speculation. However, both ministers later clarified that they had visited the venue exclusively to attend a Cabinet Sub-Committee meeting chaired by Bhatti, and had no involvement in any meetings with Murali or Rajgopal Reddy.

Both Murali and Rajgopal Reddy maintained that their visits were non-political and strictly aimed at discussing constituency development works and clearing pending bills. Speaking to reporters, Murali stated that no political issues were discussed with the Deputy Chief Minister. He dismissed rumors about leaving the Congress, affirming full faith in Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and Priyanka Gandhi.

Murali also distanced himself and Surekha from the statements made by his daughter, stating that she has the right to speak independently. He added that he had conveyed all relevant details to the disciplinary committee and would refrain from further comment until a formal decision is made.

Rajgopal Reddy, who is also facing allegations of anti-party conduct, stated that he had visited Praja Bhavan solely to discuss pending bills for his Munugode constituency and had coincidentally found Murali already present there.
