Komatireddy Venkat Reddy Sets December 2027 Deadline For Hyderabad High Court And OGH

Telangana Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy on Friday directed government officials to speed up major infrastructure projects in Hyderabad, setting a December 2027 deadline for the completion of the new High Court building, judges' residential quarters, and Osmania General Hospital. Reviewing the progress of various healthcare and road works, the minister announced that the Telangana Institute of Medical Sciences (TIMS) facility in Sanathnagar is ready for inauguration, while instructing officials to accelerate construction at the Alwal and LB Nagar TIMS sites.

The directive aims to fast-track critical healthcare and judicial infrastructure in the state. In addition to the Hyderabad-based TIMS facilities, Minister Reddy stated that expansion works at the Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) and the Warangal Multi-Super Specialty Hospital must be expedited to ensure they are completed on schedule.

Beyond healthcare, the review focused on the state's massive Hybrid Annuity Mode (HAM) road programme. The first phase of this initiative envisages laying 6,092 kilometres of roads across 34 packages, at an estimated cost of nearly Rs 13,000 crore. The minister emphasized the need to maintain momentum on these key transport links.

According to the minister, work has already commenced under package-2 of the programme, which covers the 42-kilometre double road project connecting Nalgonda and Mahabubnagar. An additional 10 road packages are scheduled to be grounded in July.

To prevent delays, Minister Reddy instructed officials to intensify construction efforts once the monsoon season concludes. He directed that work should be taken up in three shifts, including night hours, to guarantee that all major road and building projects are completed within their stipulated timelines.

The minister urged the department to ensure that the new High Court, judges' quarters, and Osmania General Hospital are fully completed and kept ready for their formal inauguration by the December 2027 deadline.
