Kishan Reddy Demands Release of Rs 15,000 Crore Fee Reimbursement Dues in Telangana

Union Coal Minister G Kishan Reddy on Wednesday demanded that the Telangana State government clear the pending fee reimbursement dues amounting to Rs 15,000 crore for students before moving forward with plans to bring in foreign universities to the state.

Stating his demands on the social media platform X, the Union Minister questioned the state administration regarding several unfulfilled education-related commitments. He asked what had happened to the promises made in the election manifesto, specifically highlighting the pledge for a 15 per cent allocation to the education budget, the provision of Rs 5 lakh education assurance cards, and the distribution of scooters for girl students.

Kishan Reddy further criticised Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, alleging that the Chief Minister is attempting to divert the attention of the public rather than delivering on key governance assurances.

He stated that the government was wasting time through mere talk instead of implementing the promises made to the people and clearing critical dues owed to students across the state.
