Kesineni Nani accuses TDP MP of grabbing 112 acres of government land in Shamshiguda

On 28 June 2026, former Vijayawada MP Kesineni Nani urged Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to intervene against Vijayawada TDP MP Kesineni Sivanath over an alleged attempt to encroach on 112.72 acres of government land in Shamshiguda, near Pragathi Nagar on the outskirts of Hyderabad. Nani sought immediate legal and administrative action to protect the property, placing the Congress-led state government under political scrutiny.
In a formal letter to the Chief Minister, Nani accused the sitting TDP MP of abusing his constitutional position and political influence to capture the land, located in Survey No. 57 at Shamshiguda.
Nani cited a counter-affidavit filed by the Medchal-Malkajgiri Collector in the Supreme Court, which identified the entire 274 acres in Survey No. 57 as government land. Despite this classification, Nani alleged that Sivanath and his son, Kesineni Venkat Chowdary, who is the Managing Partner of Exella Properties, conspired to illegally secure rights over a 112.72-acre portion of the property.
The complaint further alleged that the accused concealed material facts from the Supreme Court. Nani claimed that funds linked to the PMC Bank scam had been diverted into the property, pointing to an Enforcement Directorate caution notice issued on 4 October 2023. He also asserted that an order of the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT), which bars transactions involving HDIL's 55 per cent development rights, was bypassed through a private settlement.
Additionally, Nani accused Kesineni Developers and Exella Properties of operating without TS-RERA registration. He claimed the firms have been actively marketing plots on the disputed land to hundreds of middle-class families despite the ongoing legal conflict.
To resolve the issue, Nani requested the Chief Minister to direct the Advocate General to present the Collector's affidavit and TGIIC land allocation records to the Supreme Court. He urged the state to seek the dismissal of private applications filed in the matter.
Furthermore, Nani demanded that HYDRAA take possession of the disputed 112.72 acres, remove all alleged encroachments, demolish unauthorized structures, and instruct the police to register criminal cases against those responsible.
The allegations have raised questions regarding the functioning of HYDRAA, with observers questioning how such a large-scale land grab attempt in the prime Pragathi Nagar area could go unnoticed. The situation also presents a political challenge for Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, given his past association with the TDP.
