KCR Extends Telangana Formation Day Greetings and Urges Congress to Fulfill Promises

On June 1, 2026, Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) president and former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao extended Telangana Formation Day greetings to the people of the state and Telangana natives worldwide from Hyderabad. Speaking ahead of the statehood anniversary on June 2, Rao paid tributes to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the formation of Telangana and urged the current Congress government to fulfill its promises.

In an official statement, Rao recalled the history of the Telangana statehood movement, highlighting that it was achieved through a democratic and parliamentary struggle. He noted that the region had overcome decades of discrimination and numerous obstacles under united Andhra Pradesh before achieving self-governance.

Rao emphasized that Telangana emerged as a national model of development, silencing critics who doubted the administrative capabilities of the state's people. He highlighted the rapid progress achieved during the decade of the previous BRS administration, particularly in sectors such as irrigation, drinking water supply, power, agriculture, education, and healthcare.

According to the BRS chief, the previous government's large-scale irrigation and welfare initiatives successfully transformed Telangana into a major agricultural producer. He wished continued prosperity, good health, and happiness for farmers, workers, and all sections of society as the state moves forward.

However, Rao cautioned citizens to remain vigilant to safeguard Telangana's identity and progress against regressive forces. He asserted that the BRS would continue to act as a protective shield for the state's interests.

Closing his statement, Rao appealed directly to the ruling Congress government to focus on sustained development, improve living standards, and build confidence among citizens. He specifically urged the administration to prioritize farmers' welfare and agricultural development by honoring its promises.
