KBR Park One Way Traffic Trial Triggers Confusion and Delays in Hyderabad

A one-way traffic trial run conducted by traffic police around KBR Park in Hyderabad on Sunday, June 21, 2026, triggered widespread confusion and severe traffic congestion at multiple key junctions. The trial, which altered vehicle movement patterns, left commuters struggling to navigate diversions and facing significantly longer travel times across Jubilee Hills, Banjara Hills, and surrounding areas.

Motorists approaching KBR Park from Jubilee Hills Check Post, Punjagutta, Yousufguda, Srinagar Colony, and adjoining areas reported a lack of clarity regarding the revised routes. This uncertainty led to frequent stops, sudden lane changes, and vehicle queues at several major intersections.

To manage the flow of vehicles, traffic personnel were deployed at busy stretches including the KBR Park Entrance, Indo-American Cancer Hospital, Agrasen Island, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Film Nagar, and Jubilee Hills Check Post junctions.

A major bottleneck formed at the KBR Park junction for commuters travelling from Jubilee Hills Check Post toward the Indo-American Cancer Hospital. Traffic accumulated heavily as vehicles were permitted to move from the LV Prasad Eye Institute toward the hospital.

Additional congestion occurred at KBR Junction, where drivers travelling from Punjagutta, Yousufguda, and Srinagar Colony were diverted toward the Indo-American Cancer Hospital on their way to Jubilee Hills Check Post. Commuters noted that a journey to the check post, which previously took five minutes, was significantly delayed.

Similarly, motorists heading from Income Tax Colony toward KBR Park Junction, Yousufguda, Punjagutta, or Jubilee Hills Check Post had to travel via Agrasen Island, Film Nagar, and Jubilee Hills. This diversion increased travel times from five minutes to approximately 15 minutes.

Meanwhile, traffic proceeding from Banjara Hills Road No. 12 toward the Indo-American Cancer Hospital and KBR Park Junction was diverted to Jubilee Hills Check Post, causing vehicles to pile up at Agrasen Island. A similar backup was observed at Film Nagar near Journalist Colony.
