KBR Park One-Way System Eases Traffic Flow as Commuters Adapt, Hyderabad Police Say

The one-way traffic system introduced around KBR Park in Hyderabad has begun showing signs of improvement, with motorists progressively adapting to the revised vehicular arrangements, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic-II) Kajal Singh said.

Nearly 10 days after the traffic system was implemented on August 18, officials from the traffic department stated that overall travel time on the route has improved when compared to conditions on the first day of the rollout.

During the initial phase, police closely monitored traffic volume, vehicular movement patterns, and commuter concerns across the corridor. Through this monitoring, authorities found that Tuesdays witnessed heavier traffic flow compared to other weekdays.

According to DCP Kajal Singh, regular commuters passing through the area are now becoming familiar with the necessary lane changes required to reach different exits around the park.

To facilitate smoother transit, traffic personnel have been deployed at key points along the route. Officers are using public address systems to guide motorists, manage movement, and announce necessary route changes.

In addition to ground personnel, the traffic police are coordinating with Google to update navigation data on Maps, incorporating the road-related changes and real-time congestion alerts. The department is also planning better route guidance tailored for gig workers through regular updates on the Maps India app.

Further measures will be introduced as and when required, based on evolving ground conditions and continued observations of traffic flow, the DCP added.
