Kazipet Dargah Urs Draws Multifaith Devotees; Ministers Promise Development Funds

Devotees from across Telangana and neighboring states gathered in large numbers at the Kazipet Dargah in Kazipet on Monday night to participate in the annual Urs celebrations. Hindus, Muslims, and Christians jointly offered prayers at the shrine during the event.

Several state ministers and elected representatives visited the dargah to offer prayers, including Revenue Minister and Urs in-charge Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, Minorities Welfare Minister Mohammed Azharuddin, Endowments Minister Konda Surekha, and Warangal West MLA Naini Rajender Reddy.

Speaking at the gathering, Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy praised dargah spiritual head Kusoor Pasha Saheb and the organizers for conducting the Urs. He directed the district collector and municipal commissioner to prepare comprehensive development proposals for the dargah in coordination with MLA Naini Rajender Reddy. Ponguleti assured that the state government would provide required funds and promised to ensure infrastructure works are completed before the next Urs, adding that he would take up the matter with Chief Minister Revanth Reddy.

Minorities Welfare Minister Mohammed Azharuddin noted that the event reflected Telangana's culture of unity and brotherhood. Endowments Minister Konda Surekha stated that people of diverse faiths have participated in the Kazipet Urs for hundreds of years, urging citizens not to let religious differences obstruct development.

Warangal West MLA Naini Rajender Reddy detailed the arrangements made for the visiting jiyareens and devotees. He said drinking water facilities were set up at a cost of around Rs 40 lakh, alongside free meals, electricity, sanitation, security, and traffic management.

MLA Naini added that development proposals submitted to the government nearly one-and-a-half years ago have reached their final stage, which will improve infrastructure for visiting devotees once implemented.

The celebrations were also attended by MLAs Prakash Reddy and K.R. Nagaraju, MLC Baswaraju Saraiah, Telangana Mahila Congress president Errabelli Swarna, along with district, municipal, and police officials.
