Kavitha Demands Pawan Kalyan Return 10 Acres of Protected Shikam Land

At a press conference held at her Banjara Hills office in Hyderabad on Saturday, Telangana Rakshana Sena (TRS) chief Kalvakuntla Kavitha demanded that Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan return 10 acres of land in Kodikunta lake. Kavitha alleged that the entire property is protected shikam (lake bed) land and falls within the Full Tank Level (FTL) area.
According to the TRS chief, the Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister purchased this 10-acre land parcel shortly after staging an 11-day fast in opposition to the historic formation of the state of Telangana. She asserted that official revenue records explicitly identify the entire plot as protected shikam land.
Kavitha further claimed that during the land registration process, significant discrepancies were intentionally manufactured to falsely show that only three acres of the land fell under the restricted shikam category.
"This is a lie. We possess proofs, and I am certain the govt does too," Kavitha stated during the press conference. She urged the Telangana state government to immediately initiate legal proceedings to seize the property back and compensate Pawan Kalyan under standard terms, just as they would treat any ordinary farmer.
In addition to her allegations against the Deputy Chief Minister, the TRS leader accused the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Assets Monitoring and Protection Agency (HYDRAA) of employing dual standards regarding lake encroachments. She claimed the agency functions as a tool to oppress poor and middle-class citizens while shielding wealthy corporate violators.
Kavitha pointed to a protest her party staged against the Sri Aditya Vantage project, claiming the agency attempted to malign them but was met with indisputable facts. She noted that HYDRAA has not taken any steps to penalize that project to date.
