Karimnagar Police Book TGSP Constable for Sexual Assault and Extortion

Karimnagar Rural police on Monday registered a criminal case against a constable working with the Telangana Special Police 8th Battalion, Kondapur, for allegedly sexually assaulting a married woman and extorting Rs 1.30 lakh by threatening to leak intimate videos on social media platforms.
The accused has been identified as Itikala Uday. Based on a complaint lodged by the victim, police registered the case under Sections 64(2) and 75(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, as well as Sections 66E and 67-A of the Information Technology Act. The victim, who is a former classmate of the constable, hails from Koyyur in Prof Jayashankar Bhupalpally district and is currently living in Karimnagar.
According to the complaint, Uday allegedly lured the woman to an apartment in Karimnagar and to a hotel in Hyderabad over a five-month period recently, where he sexually assaulted her. During these incidents, he allegedly used a mobile phone to secretly record photographs and videos of the acts without her consent.
The constable subsequently extorted Rs 1.30 lakh from the woman by threatening to circulate the private photographs and video clips on social media platforms, specifically Facebook and WhatsApp. The woman stated that she eventually approached the police after Uday continued to stalk and harass her.
In her complaint, the victim further stated that she was sent back to her parents' home by her husband after the intimate photographs and videos were forwarded to him. She also claimed that the sexual assault and resulting mental trauma caused her to suffer an abortion when she was two months pregnant.
Karimnagar Rural police said that an investigation has been officially launched to verify the woman's claims. Officials added that the case is being probed from multiple angles, including the reasons the complainant remained silent until recently, and confirmed that the constable will be questioned soon.
