Kalakriti Art Gallery in Banjara Hills Opens 'Nothing Arrives Unchanged' Exhibition

Kalakriti Art Gallery in Banjara Hills, Hyderabad, is hosting a new group art exhibition titled 'Nothing Arrives Unchanged', curated by Satyajit Dave. The exhibition opens with a preview on August 27 and will remain on view for visitors through October 4.

The showcase features works by nine contemporary artists: Arunkumar H G, Asim Waqif, Guruvinayak Singh Budhwar, Pooja Iranna, Rakesh Patel, Salik Ansari, Shanthamani Muddaiah, Shweta Mansingka, and Tanmay Santra. Together, their works examine the journeys and transformations undergone by materials, objects, images, and cultural narratives.

Curated through close examination and material exploration, the central premise of 'Nothing Arrives Unchanged' is that arrival is never a neutral endpoint. According to the curatorial framework, while an object reaching the gallery space may appear finished or complete at first glance, its physical form carries the enduring traces of the processes, systems, and decisions through which it has passed over time.

The diverse artworks in the exhibition encompass a wide variety of media and physical treatments. The displayed pieces reflect different stages of material transformation, including clay that has been fired, steel that has been cut, welded, and weathered, and discarded materials that have been collected and reassembled into new structures.

In addition to sculptural and physical interventions, the exhibition addresses representational and conceptual shifts. It highlights how photographs transform real-world events into static images, and how myths and historical narratives travel across generations and evolve through distinct artistic forms.

The exhibition is open to visitors at Kalakriti Art Gallery in Banjara Hills through October 4.
