K Kavitha Breaks Down in Nizamabad, Accuses BRS Leaders of Creating Family Rifts

Telangana Rashtra Sena (TRS) chief K Kavitha broke down in tears during a public meeting in Nizamabad district on Monday as she recalled her arrest and political isolation, while sharply criticising former minister Vemula Prashanth Reddy, her estranged family members, and former Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) colleagues.

Addressing the Panchajanya Sankalpa Sabha, Kavitha alleged that Prashanth Reddy played a "Shakuni"-like role in causing internal family disputes and driving a wedge between her and her father, former Telangana chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao. She further claimed that several BRS MLAs worked actively to push her out of the political sphere.

Reflecting on her imprisonment in connection with the Delhi excise policy case, Kavitha said she was taken away to Delhi and placed in Tihar Jail despite having done no wrong. She asserted that her emotional reaction stemmed from pain and anguish rather than weakness, maintaining that she remained steadfast against Enforcement Directorate and Central Bureau of Investigation cases.

Kavitha questioned the treatment she received from the BRS following years of political involvement, asking why she was cast out during difficult times. Her remarks highlighted an escalating rift with her brother, BRS working president K T Rama Rao, and her cousin, senior leader T Harish Rao.

She noted that she was hurt when Rama Rao was unavailable during Raksha Bandhan due to overseas travel. Separately, Kavitha has accused Harish Rao of attempting to facilitate a merger between the BRS and the Bharatiya Janata Party, an allegation he has rejected.

Kavitha, who formerly represented Nizamabad in the Lok Sabha, said her new political movement was formed out of concern for the state's unaddressed issues. She expressed confidence that her side would secure victories across all five Assembly constituencies in Nizamabad district.
