K Govardhan arrested for knife attack on five family members in Raidurgam

A 22-year-old man was arrested by the police on Friday morning after allegedly attacking five members of a family with a knife at Endla Basti in Raidurgam, Hyderabad. The violent assault occurred after a 20-year-old woman rejected the suspect's advances.
According to the Raidurgam police, the suspect has been identified as K Govardhan. The police stated that Govardhan had been harassing the 20-year-old woman under the pretext of love.
Angered by her rejection, Govardhan allegedly trespassed into the woman's residence on Friday morning. Once inside the house, he began threatening the family members with a knife.
When the family members attempted to stop him, Govardhan allegedly launched a physical attack, using the knife to injure the woman, her parents, and her sister. The woman's uncle, who rushed to the family's rescue during the altercation, was also attacked and injured by the suspect.
Local residents in Endla Basti heard the cries of the victims and rushed to the house. The neighbors intervened, managed to overpower Govardhan, and held him until they could hand him over to the arriving police officers.
All five injured victims were quickly shifted to a nearby hospital. Medical officials have since reported that all the injured family members are out of danger.
Following a complaint, the Raidurgam police registered a case of attempt to murder against K Govardhan. The suspect was arrested, and the police are continuing their investigation into the incident.
