Jyothika and Sonakshi Sinha star in courtroom drama System streaming on Prime Video

The new courtroom drama film System, starring Jyothika and Sonakshi Sinha, premiered on the streaming platform Amazon Prime Video on May 22, 2026. Directed by Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, the movie is currently available to viewers in Telangana and across the region in multiple languages, including a Telugu dubbed version.
The story revolves around Ravi Rajvansh, played by Ashutosh Gowariker, a top-tier Delhi High Court lawyer who has never lost a case. His daughter, Neha Rajvansh, played by Sonakshi Sinha, is a fellow lawyer striving to establish her own professional identity. Neha forms a close bond with court stenographer Sarika Rawat, played by Jyothika.
The narrative intensifies when a prominent businessman, Vikram Bajral, played by Vijayant Kohli, is accused of murdering social media influencer Inaya Kothari, played by Freya Kothari. When Ravi Rajvansh takes up the defense for the businessman, his daughter Neha decides to prosecute the case, setting up an intense courtroom battle between father and daughter.
The film has received a rating of 3 out of 5 stars, with critics praising the lead performances of Sonakshi Sinha and Jyothika. The narrative highlights how the legal system prioritizes provable evidence over absolute truth, leading to a satisfying climax. Jyothika's emotional backstory and the tension-filled courtroom confrontations between Sinha and Gowariker were noted as major highlights.
However, the film's pacing in the first half is slow, and some of the courtroom arguments have been described as overly simplified. Additionally, local audiences have noted that the core conflict of System bears a strong resemblance to the hit Telugu movie Naandhi starring Allari Naresh, which may lessen the sense of novelty for regional viewers.
Produced by Pammi Baweja, Harman Baweja, and Smita Baliga, the film features cinematography by Rangarajan Ramabadran and editing by Charu Shree Roy. The music was composed by Karthik Manikavasam, Oaff & Savera, and Ana Rehman.
