Jubilee Hills Police Book Luft Pub for Serving Alcohol to Minors

The Jubilee Hills police have registered a case against the management of Luft Pub in Hyderabad for allegedly serving liquor to six underage youths, four of whom were minors.

Police conducted a raid on the pub late on August 22 after receiving credible information regarding the presence of underage customers. During the inspection, officers found six boys who appeared to be underage consuming alcohol inside the premises.

When questioned by the police, the youths disclosed their ages as 16, 18, 16, 16, 16, and 20 years old. Officers administered breathalyser tests to all six individuals. The tests confirmed the presence of alcohol in the systems of two 16-year-old boys, with breathalyser readings recording 79 and 70 respectively. The remaining four youths tested negative for alcohol consumption.

Following the inspection, the Jubilee Hills police registered a suo motu case against the management of Luft Pub. The charges were filed under Section 36 of the Telangana Excise Act for allegedly violating licence conditions, alongside Section 77 of the Juvenile Justice Act for providing liquor to a child.

Police confirmed that further investigation into the violation is currently under way.
