Jagtial BJP Suspends Konda Laxman Over Rs 87 Crore Paddy Misuse Allegations

The Jagtial unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party suspended party leader Konda Laxman on Monday following allegations of misusing Custom Milled Rice and the detection of unaccounted paddy worth Rs 87 crore. Jagtial BJP president R Yadagiri Babu issued the suspension orders following instructions from BJP State president N Ramchander Rao.

The disciplinary action was initiated after the Vigilance and Enforcement department conducted raids and uncovered the unaccounted paddy. Following a complaint lodged by the Civil Supplies department, police registered criminal cases against Laxman, who owns a rice mill, and a few others in connection with the alleged misuse of Custom Milled Rice.

Laxman, a close aide of Nizamabad BJP MP D Aravind, remained absconding for several days after the police cases were registered. He later appeared at the Bonalu festival celebrations in Jagtial town after securing bail.

Yadagiri Babu clarified that the BJP had no connection with Laxman's business establishments or operations. He warned that leaders who failed to maintain discipline and brought disrepute to the party would face stern action.
