INTUC Delegation Meets TGSRTC MD Over Employee Arrears and Pension Issues

A delegation of the Staff and Workers Union (SWU), affiliated with the Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC) Telangana, met with TGSRTC Vice Chairman and Managing Director Y. Nagi Reddy in Hyderabad on Thursday to discuss long-pending issues affecting active and retired employees of the state transport corporation.

Led by INTUC president Dr G. Sanjeeva Reddy, the union representatives raised critical concerns regarding corporation merger matters, the settlement of pending arrears dating back to 2017, and the ongoing hardships faced by nearly 17,000 retired staff members regarding their retirement benefits.

The union also highlighted the recruitment status of candidates who qualified in the recent junior assistant examination. The delegation urged the management to issue appointment orders to all eligible candidates across various depots where vacancies exist, noting that filling these posts would ensure fair treatment for candidates while improving administrative efficiency and overall public transport operations.

Responding to the representations, TGSRTC Managing Director Y. Nagi Reddy assured the union members that all raised matters would be examined sympathetically. He stated that issues surrounding the merger, arrears, retirees' grievances, and the recruitment of qualified junior assistants would be addressed at the earliest.

The union welcomed the management's assurances and expressed confidence that the commitment would result in timely implementation. Leaders stated that the union remains committed to pursuing the legitimate demands of the workforce through constructive engagement.

INTUC Telangana general secretary R.D. Chandrasekhar, SWU general secretary Mallesham Goud, and working president Godishala Abraham emphasised that a sustainable public transport system relies on workforce welfare. The delegation also included C.V.P. Prabhakar, Hafeez Khan, Makutam Sampath, Shiva, Pandu, Siva, Vijay Babu, Shantha Kumari, Chayadevi, Jaya, and Pramod Yadav.
