Senior transport authorities have ordered an inquiry after a video showing a constable allegedly counting cash inside his cabin at the Bandlaguda RTO office in Hyderabad surfaced online, triggering allegations of corruption.
In the video, which has been circulating online alongside related photographs, the constable, identified as Arun, can be seen counting cash while seated inside his cabin at the regional transport office.
The emergence of the video prompted several motorists to raise grievances regarding their experiences at the facility. Motorists alleged that they were forced to make repeated visits to the Bandlaguda RTO office even after carrying all the required documentation.
Visitors further claimed that they faced procedural delays in getting their official work completed despite fully complying with the necessary procedures and formalities.
The allegations and the viral video subsequently drew the attention of senior officials, who stated that they have taken the matter seriously. Authorities confirmed that an inquiry has been instituted into the allegations as well as the photographs and video circulating across digital platforms.
Officials are expected to examine the circumstances surrounding the cash seen in the video and verify the corruption complaints lodged by motorists. Authorities noted that further action against those involved will be determined based on the findings of the inquiry.
