Indiramma Housing Flat Draws Begin Across Four Hyderabad Constituencies

The draw of lots to select beneficiaries for flats in the Indiramma Housing towers commenced on Friday, August 28, across four Assembly constituencies in Hyderabad, including Rajendranagar, Secunderabad Cantonment, Qutbullapur, and Nampally. A large number of citizens turned up for the event in hopes of securing a new flat.
Information and Public Relations Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy took part in the draw of lots held at Lakshmiguda for the Mailardevpally area under the Rajendranagar constituency. During the draw, a young child picked a token that resulted in a flat being awarded to the child's own family, Ms. Lakshmi Jarapala.
Sharing the event on social media, the Minister remarked that the government's resolve to fulfil the dream of poor families owning homes was blessed by divine grace, noting that the selection of the child's family in the lucky draw brought joy and astonishment to those present.
The flat selection process is planned across 16 Assembly constituencies over a four-day period from August 28 to August 31, with draws taking place in four constituencies each day. Following Friday's sessions, the lottery is scheduled to be held in the Khairatabad, Kukatpally, Amberpet, and Bahadurpura constituencies on Saturday, August 29.
Under the housing framework, each beneficiary family is restricted to the allotment of a single flat. The government is extending a subsidy of ₹5 lakh per flat, while the beneficiary is required to contribute ₹6 lakh. The ₹6 lakh payment is scheduled across four instalments, beginning with a first instalment of ₹1 lakh after the provisional allotment is made.
Authorities confirmed that text messages will be sent to the applicants selected through the draws, and the complete list will be uploaded online. The entire draw of lots was streamed live through links provided on the Telangana Housing Board website and its official Instagram and Facebook pages.
