IndiGo Ventures Backs Sovereign AI Startup Sarvam in Series B Round

IndiGo Ventures, the corporate venture capital arm of airline operator IndiGo, has announced an investment in Sarvam as part of the full-stack sovereign artificial intelligence company's Series B funding round.

The investment is designed to create a long-term platform to accelerate AI-driven innovation and operational excellence at IndiGo. The airline aims to leverage Sarvam's AI technologies to enhance customer experience, boost employee productivity, and streamline complex operational workflows.

According to a company press release, the collaboration builds upon an existing relationship between the two entities. It combines IndiGo's aviation expertise, operational scale, and operational use cases with Sarvam’s capabilities in AI models, voice technologies, and agentic systems to develop modern airline infrastructure.

Neetan Chopra, Chief Digital and Information Officer at IndiGo, said the partnership gives the airline access to cutting-edge AI capabilities built in India and tailored specifically to the needs of the market.

Pratyush Kumar, Co-founder of Sarvam, added that both companies will continue to develop and evaluate AI applications spanning customer service, employee workflows, and broader airline operations.
