IndiGo Passenger Held After Trying to Open Emergency Exit at Shamshabad Airport

A passenger was handed over to law enforcement after attempting to open an emergency exit door on an IndiGo flight preparing for take-off at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Shamshabad at midnight on Thursday.

The scheduled domestic flight was preparing to depart from Shamshabad for Kadapa when the incident unfolded inside the aircraft.

According to officials, the passenger created a ruckus on board the plane just prior to take-off and made a deliberate attempt to open the emergency exit door.

IndiGo airline staff intervened immediately to stop the passenger and prevent any compromise to aircraft safety. Crew members promptly alerted airport security and local authorities.

The unruly passenger was detained and subsequently handed over to the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport police for further action.

The RGIA police have registered a case in connection with the incident, and an investigation into the matter is currently underway.
