INDICA Opens Submissions For Dallas And Heritage Film Utsavs

HYDERABAD — The Center for Indic Films, an initiative of Hyderabad-based INDICA, announced on June 1, 2026, that it has officially opened submissions for the upcoming editions of the INDICA Dallas Film Utsav and the INDICA Heritage Film Utsav.

Now in its seventh year, the initiative has unveiled a dual-festival format designed to significantly expand its global reach and impact. Filmmakers can now submit feature films, documentaries, and short films for both of the upcoming festival editions.

The dual-festival format is structured to broaden the reach of Indic storytelling by utilizing both an international theatrical platform and a global online showcase. This allows the organization to cater to both physical and digital audiences.

The first event under this new format is the INDICA Dallas Film Utsav. This is a three-day, in-person theatrical festival held annually in Dallas, Texas. The upcoming edition of the Dallas festival is scheduled to take place from November 13 to November 15, 2026, with screenings hosted at the Galaxy Theatres in Dallas.

The second event is the INDICA Heritage Film Utsav, which will serve as a global online film festival. This digital showcase is dedicated specifically to civilisational, cultural, and heritage-driven cinema. Designed to provide a continuous, 24/7 anytime-anywhere festival experience for viewers worldwide, the online event is scheduled to run from March 11 to March 14, 2027.

Over the past six years, the Indic Film Utsav has established itself as a prominent platform for meaningful, culturally rooted Indic storytelling. To date, the festival has screened more than 350 films sourced from across the world.

The initiative has undergone significant evolution over the years, spending four years as a pioneering OTT film festival and two years as a theatrical, in-person event in Dallas, USA, before adopting the current dual-festival format.
