India U-17 Women Football Team Reaches Tashkent for Uzbekistan Friendlies

The India Under-17 women’s football team arrived in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, ahead of two scheduled friendly matches against the host nation on August 27 and August 30.
Head coach Joakim Alexandersson is leading a 23-player squad for the closed-door fixtures. Both matches are scheduled to take place at the UFA National Football Centre in Tashkent, with kick-off set for 10:30 IST.
The Young Tigresses had been training in Bengaluru since July 16, and these matches mark their first two friendlies as part of preparations for the AFC Under-17 Women’s Asian Cup China 2027 Qualifiers.
The continental qualifying tournament will take place from October 5 to 11 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. India has been placed in Group E alongside Iraq, Syria, and hosts Malaysia.
The 23-member squad selected for the tour includes goalkeepers Munni, Sanatombi Devi Irengbam, and Sonam Ghosh.
The defensive lineup comprises Abhista Basnett, Ambalika Chanu Khundongbam, Joyshini Chanu Huidrom, Ritu Badaik, Sharvari Mane, and Taniya Devi Tonambam.
The midfielders in the squad are Alva Devi Senjam, Bonifilia Shullai, Julan Nongmaithem, Monika Devi Wairokpam, Pritika Barman, Redima Devi Chingkhamayum, Silky Devi Sorokhaibam, Thandamoni Baskey, and Yashica Haribabu.
The forward line features Anushka Kumari, Deepika Kumari, Joya, Nidhi, and Nira Chanu Longjam.
