IMD Issues Thunderstorm Warning for 13 Telangana Districts

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a thunderstorm forecast for 13 districts across Telangana for Thursday, August 20, 2026.

According to the weather department's latest bulletin, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds are very likely to occur at isolated places across several northern and eastern districts of the state.

The warning covers Adilabad, Kumaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagtial, Rajanna Sircilla, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, and Khammam districts.

For Hyderabad and its surrounding areas, the weather office forecast a generally cloudy sky over the next 24 hours. Light rain or drizzle is very likely to occur in parts of the city towards the evening or night.

Temperatures in Hyderabad are expected to remain moderate, with the maximum and minimum temperatures likely to hover around 31 degrees Celsius and 24 degrees Celsius, respectively.
