IMD Issues Orange Alerts For Adilabad, Nizamabad and Karimnagar Amid Heavy Rain Forecast

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall across the state of Telangana for the next three days, prompting the issuance of orange and yellow weather alerts for several districts including Adilabad, Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Jagtial, and Peddapalli. The intense wet spell is triggered by a low-pressure system that has formed over the northwest Bay of Bengal.
According to the weather department's forecast, southern Telangana districts, including Adilabad, Nizamabad, and Karimnagar, are likely to receive heavy to very heavy rains. Meanwhile, eastern districts such as Warangal and Khammam may witness heavy rainfall at isolated places, as detailed in the official forecast report.
While an orange alert has been issued for parts of the state, southern and central districts are expected to experience light to moderate rainfall over the course of these three days.
For today, the meteorological department has sounded a yellow alert for Adilabad, Nizamabad, and Jagtial districts to warn residents of potential rainfall.
The rainfall is expected to intensify on the following day, with the IMD upgrading the warning to an orange alert for Adilabad, Nizamabad, Jagtial, and Peddapalli districts. Additionally, yellow alerts have been issued for Kamareddy, Medak, Rajanna Sircilla, Karimnagar, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Mahabubabad, and Bhadradri Kothagudem districts on the same day.
On Sunday, the orange alerts will be in place for Adilabad, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Peddapalli, and Karimnagar districts. On the same day, yellow alerts have been issued for Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagtial, Rajanna Sircilla, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, and Bhadradri Kothagudem districts.
In contrast to the heavy downpours expected in these districts, the city of Hyderabad is projected to witness a generally cloudy sky with light to moderate rain.
The weather department has indicated that these wet conditions will subside across the region, with dry conditions likely to prevail across the state after July 7.
