IMD Issues Heavy Rain and Thunderstorm Warnings Across Hyderabad and Telangana Districts

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heavy rainfall warning for Monday, June 29, 2026, across several parts of Telangana, including the districts of Adilabad, Kumaram Bheem Asifabad, Nirmal, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, and the capital city of Hyderabad. According to the weather department, multiple regions are expected to experience severe weather conditions, prompting warnings for local residents and administrators.

In its official weather bulletin, the IMD stated that heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at isolated places in five specific districts. These high-risk areas include Adilabad, Kumaram Bheem Asifabad, Nirmal, Mulugu, and Bhadradri Kothagudem. Residents in these northern and eastern parts of the state have been advised to remain cautious of the impending wet spell.

In addition to the localized heavy rain warnings, a broader alert has been sounded for the entire state. The IMD forecast indicates that thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds are very likely to occur at isolated places across all 33 districts of Telangana on Monday. This widespread warning highlights the potential for sudden weather disruptions throughout the region.

For the state capital of Hyderabad and its surrounding areas, the meteorological department has predicted a generally cloudy sky over the next 24 hours. The city is expected to experience light to moderate rain or thundershowers, which are very likely to be accompanied by gusty winds. According to the IMD bulletin, these weather activities are most likely to occur towards the evening or night of June 29.

Along with the precipitation warnings, the IMD also shared temperature expectations for the capital. The maximum temperature in Hyderabad is likely to hover around 34 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature is expected to drop to around 26 degrees Celsius during this 24-hour period.

The bulletin detailing these weather warnings was officially released by the meteorological department on the evening of June 28, 2026, to allow citizens and civic bodies to prepare for the wet weather ahead.
