IHM-Hyderabad Faculty Launch Two Books on Indian Cuisine and Food Idioms

The Institute of Hotel Management (IHM), Hyderabad, marked a literary milestone with the formal launch of two books authored by its senior faculty members in Hyderabad.

The two publications were officially released by A. Vani Prasad, Special Chief Secretary for the Youth Advancement, Tourism and Culture Department. The event brought together representatives from the hospitality sector, tourism administration, and technical education bodies.

The first book, titled 'The Language Buffet: A Feast of Food and Drink Idioms and Phrases', is authored by Sanjay Thakur, Principal of IHM-Hyderabad. The second publication, titled 'A Kaleidoscope of Indian Palates: The Ultimate Culinary Quiz Digest', is authored by Puneet Razdan, Head of the Department for Food & Beverage Service at IHM-Hyderabad.

'The Language Buffet' provides an exploration into the world of food and drink idioms and phrases, blending language, culture, and gastronomy. Meanwhile, 'A Kaleidoscope of Indian Palates' takes readers on an interactive journey through the diverse culinary landscape of India using an interactive quiz digest format to highlight food traditions.

The launch ceremony was attended by several notable officials and industry leaders. Key attendees included D. Venkatesan, Regional Director (South) for the Ministry of Tourism, and Arun Kumar Gupta, Area Director of Lemon Tree Hotels.

Other guests present at the gathering included Jitendra Nakhwa, General Manager of Hotel Green Park, and G. Giri Babu, Deputy Director (Technical) at the Commissioner of Technical Education.

Chartered Accountant S. Ratnakar and P. Santosh Kumar, AAO at IHM Hyderabad, also attended the event to celebrate the release of the two educational and culinary volumes.
