HYDRAA Receives Complaint on Park Encroachment at Kandlakoya

A formal complaint has been submitted to the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) commissioner, alleging the encroachment of public park land and unlawful occupation of private plots at Springfield Enclave in Kandlakoya village, located in Medchal-Malkajgiri district.

The complaint was filed by plot owner Mettu Surya Prakash, who stated that the residential layout was originally developed by Shanta Sriram Estates and sold to individual buyers after being approved by the then competent authority, the Hyderabad Urban Development Authority (HUDA). A total of 261 plots were sold in the venture.

According to the complainant, promotional brochures and the approved layout earmarked two to three public parks covering approximately two acres in aggregate. The complaint highlights that this park land is designated government property and is currently facing unlawful encroachment.

Prakash, who stated that he has held peaceful possession of his plot for more than two decades, alleged that unauthorized temporary structures were erected around his land without permission from competent authorities as he began preparations to construct a residence. He further alleged that attempts to encroach on his property were accompanied by intimidation and threats.

The complainant has appealed to HYDRAA and concerned administrative authorities to inspect the layout approvals, land records, registrations, and the reported encroachments. He requested the removal of all unauthorized structures identified during the inquiry, the protection of the land designated for public parks, and the safeguarding of the lawful rights and properties of individual plot owners.
