Hyderabad's T-Hub Partners with Indian Army's Central Command for Defence Startups

Hyderabad-based innovation hub T-Hub has entered into a strategic partnership with the Indian Army’s Central Command to fast-track defence technology start-ups and address operational military requirements.

Under the collaboration, T-Hub will receive active problem statements directly from the Central Command and match them with relevant start-ups capable of developing targeted solutions. Founders will have the opportunity to work closely with Army stakeholders to design, test, and validate technologies against real deployment standards.

A joint oversight committee will manage the initiative and coordinate interactions between participating start-ups and the Army. T-Hub will assist with product development, technology validation, and market readiness while incorporating operational feedback from defence personnel.

T-Hub Chief Executive Officer Kavikrut emphasized that direct interaction with military end-users is critical for founders building defence innovations. He noted that the collaboration establishes a necessary pathway to ensure emerging technologies are evaluated under realistic field conditions.

The new agreement expands upon T-Hub’s ongoing partnership with the Army’s Western Command. According to the incubator, this positions it among a select group of institutions in India maintaining direct relationships at the military Command level.

T-Hub is also one of 28 organisations selected to implement the Ministry of Defence’s Innovations for Defence Excellence (iDEX) initiative and operates as the country’s largest iDEX incubator. To date, T-Hub has engaged more than 100 defence start-ups and hosted over 70 iDEX challenges. Start-ups supported through its iDEX programme have secured over ₹250 crore in commercial defence orders, along with more than ₹4.2 crore in grants and ₹9 crore in proof-of-concept projects.
