On 4 July 2026, Hyderabadi Biryani was officially crowned India's Favourite Biryani at the grand finale of the OneChef Biryani Premier League, held at Vijay Sales in Hyderabad. The event, organized by Versuni India, the home of Philips Domestic Appliances, marked the successful conclusion of a weeks-long campaign that celebrated the country's diverse culinary traditions.

The grand finale at the Vijay Sales venue brought together a diverse crowd of food lovers, content creators, media representatives, and culinary enthusiasts. They gathered to celebrate India’s rich and diverse biryani heritage. Celebrity chef Ranveer Brar and Telugu actor Tejaswi Madiwada both attended the event to join the celebrations and help unveil the winner of the nationwide vote.

The campaign was launched as a first-of-its-kind celebration of India’s most iconic dish. Throughout the league, the OneChef Biryani Premier League invited consumers from all over the country to cast their votes for their favourite regional biryani. At the same time, the event highlighted the inspiration behind the OneChef by Philips, which is an all-in-one cooking appliance designed specifically to handle the versatility of Indian cooking.

During the voting period, consumers had the opportunity to choose their favourite style from a wide range of regional variations. The competing options included Hyderabadi, Awadhi, Kolkata, Bombay, Sindhi, Kashmiri, Kanpuri, Bangalore, and Goan Fish Biryani. Following weeks of enthusiastic participation and nationwide voting, Hyderabadi Biryani was crowned the ultimate winner.

Pooja Baid, the Chief Marketing Officer of Versuni India, shared her thoughts on the conclusion of the event. She noted that the OneChef Biryani Premier League was designed to be more than just a simple celebration of India’s diverse regional biryani traditions. According to Baid, the campaign was ultimately a celebration of the deep emotional connection that people across the nation share with food.
