Hyderabad Water Supply to Face 24-Hour Disruption from August 17

Drinking water supply to several parts of Hyderabad, including Banjara Hills, will face disruption for 24 hours from 10 am on August 17 to 10 am on August 18. The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) announced the scheduled shutdown due to major maintenance and pipeline works at the Singur project, which supplies drinking water to the city.

According to the HMWS&SB, the maintenance activity will impact water distribution across multiple zones and neighbourhoods with varying degrees of severity. Residents in certain pockets will face a complete stoppage of water supply, while others will experience reduced pressure or partial supply during the 24-hour window.

The water board stated that Gayatrinagar, Borabanda, and ESI are expected to face complete disruption of water supply throughout the maintenance period.

Additionally, affected areas include BHEL, MIG-I and II, Rail Vihar, Chandanagar, the Indian School of Business, and KPHB Colony. Meanwhile, localities such as Shaikpet, Kokapet, Manikonda, and Narsingi will face partial disruption in their regular drinking water supply.

Several other residential and commercial localities across the city may receive inadequate or low-pressure water supply during this timeframe. These areas include Banjara Hills, Somajiguda, Ameerpet, SR Nagar, Erragadda, Yellareddyguda, Sanathnagar, NIMS, Kondapur, Hafeezpet, Mayurinagar, Gokul Plots, Malaysian Township, Hydernagar, and Bolaram.

The Singur project infrastructure is undergoing pipeline and maintenance works to ensure operations across the city network. In light of the supply interruption, the HMWS&SB has urged consumers across all affected neighbourhoods to store necessary water in advance and use supplies judiciously during the 24-hour maintenance period.
