Hyderabad Traffic Police Resolve 7,161 Pending Cases In Lok Adalat Drive

The Hyderabad Traffic Police successfully disposed of 7,161 pending traffic violation cases during a special Lok Adalat drive conducted across Hyderabad from June 8 to June 20, 2026. The initiative focused on resolving long-pending traffic offences, particularly those registered under the Motor Vehicles Act, to promote road safety and responsible driving.

Drunken driving cases topped the list of settled offences during the 13-day campaign. Out of the total cases resolved, drunken driving accounted for 3,804 cases, making up the largest share of the cleared backlog.

The special drive also addressed several other major categories of traffic offences. A total of 1,245 cases booked for driving licence violations were settled. Furthermore, the drive resolved 1,042 cases of minors using vehicles and 381 cases related to using mobile phones while driving.

An additional 689 cases involving various other traffic violations were also officially disposed of through the Lok Adalat.

Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Hyderabad, D Joel Davis, emphasised that public cooperation is crucial for improving road safety, preventing accidents, and ensuring the smooth movement of traffic across the city. Davis urged local motorists to act responsibly and contribute towards creating safer roads for everyone.
