Hyderabad Traffic Police inspect Secunderabad temple routes ahead of Bonalu festival

The Hyderabad Traffic Police have stepped up their preparations for the upcoming annual Sri Ujjaini Mahankali Bonalu festival. On Saturday, July 4, 2026, senior traffic officials and field personnel conducted a detailed field inspection at the Sri Ujjaini Mahankali Temple and its surrounding areas in Secunderabad to review traffic management plans.
With nearly a month to go before the annual Sri Ujjaini Mahankali Bonalu celebrations, the Hyderabad Traffic Police have intensified their preparations by reviewing traffic management plans around the temple and launching road safety initiatives across the city. The festival is scheduled to take place on August 2, 2026, and the inspections were organized to ensure all safety and transit measures are ready well in advance.
During the field visit, the inspection team assessed several key areas of traffic management. This included reviewing potential traffic diversion points, identifying designated parking arrangements, and planning necessary barricading to guide the flow of people and vehicles.
In addition to vehicular movement, the officials focused on pedestrian movement plans and emergency access routes. The primary goal of these preparations is to guarantee smooth vehicular movement, maintain effective crowd management, and ensure overall road safety for the thousands of devotees expected to visit the Secunderabad temple.
Following the assessment, senior traffic officials instructed the field personnel to complete all traffic and bandobast arrangements well ahead of the festival date. The department is aiming to minimize congestion and prevent any logistical issues on the day of the event.
The Hyderabad Traffic Police have also reached out to the public ahead of the celebrations. They issued an appeal to both devotees and daily commuters, urging them to follow the officially notified traffic diversions once they are implemented. Furthermore, the police requested citizens to park their vehicles strictly within the designated parking zones and to cooperate fully with the on-duty police personnel to ensure a safe and orderly festival.
