Hyderabad Traffic Police announce diversions in Banjara Hills for July 16 Ratha Yatra

The Hyderabad Traffic Police issued a traffic advisory announcing diversions and regulations in Banjara Hills and other parts of the city for the Sri Jagannath Ratha Yatra processions scheduled on July 16. The restrictions will affect major routes around Road No. 12 in Banjara Hills, Jubilee Hills, Film Nagar, and Shaikpet as two major processions are set to take place.

One procession, organised by the Jagannath Temple at Banjara Hills Road No. 12, will take place between 12:00 PM and 8:00 PM. Traffic restrictions will be enforced in and around Jubilee Hills, Film Nagar, and Shaikpet areas during this period.

Another major procession organised by ISKCON is scheduled to commence at 11:00 AM from NTR Stadium near Indira Park. It will proceed via Dharna Chowk, Ashok Nagar, RTC Cross Roads, Narayanaguda, Himayathnagar, Liberty, Basheerbagh, Abids, and Koti, before culminating at the Exhibition Grounds by 5:00 PM.

Authorities stated that traffic along the procession routes will be regulated, stopped, or diverted depending on the movement of devotees. Heavy congestion is expected at major junctions, including RTC Cross Roads, Liberty, Basheerbagh, and Abids.

To manage the congestion around Banjara Hills, specific diversions have been laid out. Vehicles travelling from Masab Tank, Lakdikapul, and Khairatabad towards Road No. 12, Film Nagar, Shaikpet, and Road No. 45, Jubilee Hills, are advised to travel via Road No. 1 – Road No. 10 – Zaheer Nagar – NTR Bhavan – Jubilee Hills Check Post to reach their destinations. Alternatively, they can proceed via Road No. 12 – ACB Office By-lane – MLA Colony – Omega Hospital – Apollo Junction.

Commuters driving from Shaikpet, Film Nagar, Jubilee Hills, and Tolichowki towards Road No. 12 are advised to take the route via Jubilee Hills Check Post – Road No. 10 – Zaheer Nagar – Road No. 1, Banjara Hills.

For vehicles coming from Madhapur, Hi-tech City, Road No. 45, and Road No. 36 towards Road No. 12, the police advised proceeding via Jubilee Hills Check Post – NTR Bhavan – Road No. 10 – Zaheer Nagar – Road No. 1, Banjara Hills.
