A Special Lok Adalat dedicated to resolving cheque bounce cases under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act is scheduled to be held in Hyderabad, Telangana, on July 18 and November 11. The announcement was made by Sessions Judge-cum-chairperson K. Sai Rama Devi, who emphasized that the initiative is designed to offer a speedy, cost-effective, and permanent resolution to these pending disputes through mutual compromise.

To promote the upcoming event, a wall poster was officially released in the chambers of Sessions Judge-cum-chairperson K. Sai Rama Devi in Hyderabad. The judge explained that resolving these matters through mutual compromise is highly beneficial for the litigants involved. She observed that opting for a settlement not only saves valuable time and financial resources for both sides but also provides much-needed relief from the burden of prolonged litigation in the courts.

Furthermore, Judge Sai Rama Devi clarified the legal standing of the decisions made during these sessions. She stated that the awards passed in the Special Lok Adalat carry statutory recognition. Because of this legal status, any compromise or settlement reached during the proceedings is legally binding on both parties, ensuring a final and enforceable resolution to their dispute.

In preparation for the scheduled dates, the Telangana State Legal Services Authority has actively begun organizing the event. The authority released a statement confirming that a comprehensive review meeting was recently conducted with judicial officers to discuss the logistical arrangements for the Special Lok Adalat.

During this review meeting, specific instructions and directions were issued to the participating judicial officers. They have been directed to identify eligible compoundable cases under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act. Additionally, the officers were instructed to reach out to and inform the litigants involved in these cases, urging them to participate. The judicial officers are also tasked with taking all necessary steps to ensure the successful and smooth conduct of the Special Lok Adalat on both July 18 and November 11.
