Hyderabad Temperatures Drop Below 25 Degrees Celsius as IMD Issues Rain Alert

Hyderabad experienced a sharp drop in temperatures over a two-day period ending June 27, 2026, with the mercury falling below 25 degrees Celsius in several localities, including Serilingampally, Chandanagar, and Moosapet. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) and the Telangana Development Planning Society (TGDPS) recorded the sudden dip amid persistent cloud cover, while the IMD issued a yellow warning for heavy rainfall across parts of Telangana.
According to TGDPS data, Serilingampally recorded the city's lowest minimum temperature of 24.2 degrees Celsius on Saturday, June 27, 2026. Other neighborhoods, including Ramachandrapuram, Patancheruvu, Jubilee Hills, Rajendranagar, Yousufguda, Moosapet, Santosh Nagar, Karwan, and Kapra, also registered minimum temperatures below 25 degrees Celsius.
The TGDPS three-day forecast indicated that the city's lowest minimum temperature is expected to drop further to 23.5 degrees Celsius in Serilingampally, Chandanagar, Ramachandrapuram, and Patancheruvu. Days have also become cooler, with Moosapet recording the lowest daytime temperature of 31.8 degrees Celsius on Saturday, while Chandrayangutta recorded the highest daytime temperature of 34.9 degrees Celsius.
Maximum temperatures in the city are expected to drop to 28.5 degrees Celsius over the next three days in areas such as Serilingampally, Chandanagar, Ramachandrapuram, Patancheru, Moosapet, Kukatpally, Qutubullapur, Gajularamaram, and Alwal. Across the wider state, Sangareddy district recorded the lowest temperature of 22.5 degrees Celsius, while Khammam recorded the highest maximum temperature at 38.7 degrees Celsius.
The IMD Hyderabad bulletin reported that the city recorded a maximum temperature of 31.2 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 26 degrees Celsius on Saturday. For Sunday, June 28, 2026, the IMD forecast cloudy skies with light to moderate rain or thundershowers, with a possibility of heavy spells at one or two places in the evening or night. Temperatures are expected to range between 30 degrees Celsius and 22 degrees Celsius.
The Met department maintained its yellow warning, alerting residents of potential heavy rain at isolated places on Sunday. The warning covers Adilabad, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagtial, Rajanna Sircilla, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanumakonda, Medak, Kamareddy, Mahabubnagar, and Nagarkurnool districts.
