Hyderabad Student Shresth Suraiya Wins Gold At International Physics Olympiad 2026

Narayana Schools student Shresth Suraiya from Hyderabad has won a gold medal representing India at the 56th International Physics Olympiad (IPhO) 2026, which was held in Bucaramanga, Colombia. The educational institution announced the achievement on Monday, July 13, 2026, celebrating the student's success on the global stage.
The International Physics Olympiad is recognized as the world’s most prestigious physics competition for secondary school students. In the 2026 edition of the competition, the entire five-member Indian contingent performed exceptionally well, with every single member securing a gold medal. This collective sweep of gold medals helped India achieve the joint world number one rank at the international event.
In addition to his stellar international performance in Colombia, Suraiya also registered an outstanding academic achievement back home. He secured All India Rank (AIR) 58 in the highly competitive Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2026, marking a double success for the student this year.
