Hyderabad Startup Water Raises $2.5 Million in Funding Led by Endiya Partners
Hyderabad-based technology startup Water has raised $2.5 million (approximately Rs 23.7 crore) in a fresh funding round led by venture capital firm Endiya Partners. The investment round also saw participation from notable angel investors, including badminton legend Pullela Gopichand, Rohit Chennamaneni, and Nandan Reddy.
Water is developing artificial intelligence-powered adaptive surfaces designed to sense and physically respond to the human body in real time. The company's current product line includes Flow, an adaptive chair, and Cama, an adaptive bed. Both hardware devices are built on top of the startup's proprietary foundational model named Vortex.
According to the company, the technology aims to address existing limitations in connected furniture and sleep-tracking hardware, which primarily focus on passive sensing and data monitoring. Water's integrated system combines sensing, decision-making, and physical response mechanisms, enabling surfaces to actively adjust based on the user's immediate physical needs. While the Flow chair responds directly to posture, movement, and load, the Cama bed focuses on parameters such as sleep quality, physical recovery, and respiration.
Teja Vinukollu, founder and chief executive officer of Water, stated that the company's core thesis is centered on upgrading the human experience through physical intelligence. He noted that the body continuously signals what it requires to the surfaces it interacts with, describing Vortex as a foundational model engineered to actively listen and respond to biophysical needs.
The newly secured capital will be deployed toward technical validation, including extensive testing to determine whether the Vortex model's understanding can effectively transfer across various product categories and diverse users. Beyond domestic furniture, Water is also evaluating potential applications for its adaptive technology in the automotive and aviation industries.
The startup recently showcased a near-production-ready version of its adaptive sleep system at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES). In addition, the company announced that it has filed a foundational patent regarding its proprietary approach to system safety.
