Hyderabad Startup Lil Star Launches Baby Snack Range With Familiar Ingredients

Hyderabad-based baby snack brand Lil Star has introduced a line of baby snacks made with familiar ingredients and transparent labels, aiming to simplify healthy snacking choices for parents.

The venture was founded by Namrata Singhania, a former toddler teacher, who developed the concept after struggling to interpret complicated ingredient lists on commercial baby food products. Singhania sought to create snacks using everyday foods that children commonly consume, presenting them in engaging formats designed around developmental readiness.

Lil Star's product formulations exclude oil, added sugar, preservatives, maida, and artificial flavours. The company deliberately avoids over-engineering baby food with complex superfoods or super grains, focusing instead on recognizable ingredients.

The initial product catalogue features Power Puffs and FoYo Melts. Power Puffs are grain-based snacks available in flavours including banana, blueberry, and apple cinnamon, priced at ₹378 for a pack of two. FoYo Melts, made with fruit and yoghurt, are offered in combinations such as strawberry banana, blueberry, and mango, retailing at ₹449 for a two-pack.

The current snack line is designed for infants aged around eight months and older, with product choices linked to developmental readiness rather than age metrics alone. The brand is also working on expanding its portfolio to include purees for infants under eight months, as well as teething-friendly options for older toddlers.

Singhania stated that the brand's goal is to address an existing market gap by offering simpler, un-engineered snacks for children while keeping food decisions straightforward for parents as the company broadens its reach.
