Hyderabad Schools Urged to Integrate Fire Safety Into Everyday Campus Governance

On Tuesday, senior officials in Hyderabad urged educational institutions across Telangana to make fire safety an integral part of everyday school management and campus governance. Speaking at a specialized awareness and training programme held in the city, Director-General of Fire Safety Vikram Singh Mann and Director of School Education E. Naveen Nicolas addressed 500 school owners, correspondents, principals, and senior administrators. The officials emphasized the critical need for schools to strengthen their emergency preparedness to prevent future tragedies.

During the programme, Director of School Education E. Naveen Nicolas stated that every child has the fundamental right to study in a safe environment. He called on the school representatives to actively integrate fire safety measures into their regular campus governance rather than viewing them simply as regulatory compliance requirements.

Director-General of Fire Safety Vikram Singh Mann also addressed the gathering of educators and administrators. He highlighted that conducting regular safety audits, fostering continuous awareness, and maintaining active preparedness are essential actions that could save lives in the event of an emergency.

The training sessions provided comprehensive coverage on various aspects of campus safety. The 500 school representatives received instruction on fire risk assessments, evacuation planning, emergency response procedures, and regulatory compliance. The programme also covered cyber safety and the deployment of effective protection systems within school campuses.

In addition to the educational sessions, a company named Basic Elements launched its FIoT Smart IoT monitoring solution tailored for schools. During the event, the company demonstrated these emergency communication systems, which are designed to provide instant alerts to school administrations during fire emergencies.
