Hyderabad Road Near US Consulate Renamed Donald Trump Avenue

HYDERABAD — A road adjoining the US Consulate in Hyderabad was formally renamed 'Donald Trump Avenue' on Tuesday. The renaming took place as part of the Freedom 250 celebrations, which mark 250 years of American independence.
Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor, and US Consul General in Hyderabad Laura Williams officially unveiled the ceremonial plaque at the venue. The event drew a diverse gathering of diplomats, government officials, and industry representatives.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Vikramarka highlighted the growing partnership between Telangana and the United States. He specifically noted that this cooperation is expanding across several key sectors, including technology, investment, innovation, higher education, clean energy, and cultural exchange.
According to the Telangana government, the Freedom 250 celebrations reflect the shared democratic values and expanding cooperation between India and the United States. Vikramarka expressed confidence that strong people-to-people connections, along with growing economic and educational ties, would further deepen the relationship between the two nations in the years ahead.
Additionally, the event highlighted the significant role that the city of Hyderabad plays in strengthening India-US engagement. This partnership is particularly active across vital sectors such as technology, aerospace, defence, and investment.
