Hyderabad residents turn to smart rings as discreet health tracking alternative

HYDERABAD — Health-conscious residents in Hyderabad are increasingly adopting smart rings as a discreet and compact alternative to smartwatches for round-the-clock health monitoring, according to a report on June 18, 2026. The wearable devices allow users to track vital metrics without the constant distraction of a screen on their wrist.
Designed to resemble ordinary jewelry, these smart rings monitor a wide range of physical metrics. These include heart rate, blood oxygen levels, body temperature, sleep quality, stress levels, and daily activity. Certain models also provide insights into menstrual cycles and overall recovery scores.
For many local users, the primary appeal of the smart ring is its unobtrusive form factor. Riya Menon, a fitness-focused lawyer, explained that she sought a device that would not constantly bombard her with alerts. "I wanted something less distracting than a smartwatch. I want to use it to track fitness, but smartwatches keep showing messages and notifications too, and the ring has been perfect," Menon said.
In addition to being less distracting, the devices are helping users implement small, positive lifestyle changes. By delivering detailed insights into sleep and stress, the rings encourage healthier habits such as sticking to regular sleep schedules and staying active.
Rahul Verma, a software engineer, said the device has successfully pushed him to make healthier choices. "I never paid much attention to recovery or stress levels before," Verma said. "Seeing those insights every day pushed me to take regular walks and prioritise sleep. Small changes have made a noticeable difference in my energy levels."
Among the prominent options currently available in India is the Gabit Smart Ring. Priced between Rs 13,000 and Rs 15,000 depending on promotional offers and variants, the device tracks sleep, heart rate, stress, activity, and calorie metrics.
