Hyderabad Records Lowest SIR Digitisation in Telangana with 18.74 Lakh Missing Voters

A day before the deadline to submit enumeration forms under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls for 2026, Hyderabad district completed just 58.58 percent of its digitisation, recording the lowest progress among all districts in Telangana, according to a status report released by the Chief Electoral Office, Telangana, on Sunday, August 9, 2026. The revision drive covered major assembly constituencies across the city, including Jubilee Hills, Chandrayangutta, Yakutpura, Karwan, and Musheerabad.

According to the status report, more than 18.74 lakh electors in Hyderabad district were identified as missing during the revision exercise. These voters were officially categorized as Absent, Shifted, or Dead (ASD).

Out of the total 47,36,669 electors registered in Hyderabad district, exactly 18,74,641 electors fell into the ASD category. This accounts for 39.58 percent of all electors in the district. Election officials reported that enumeration forms relating to these electors were deemed uncollectible.

In total, Hyderabad district distributed 47,36,669 enumeration forms to electors. As of Sunday, 27,68,347 electors have submitted their completed enumeration forms. Despite the Election Commission of India revising the SIR schedule on three separate occasions, Hyderabad district was unable to reach its expected target, leaving its rank at the bottom of the state's digitisation standings.

By comparison, Yadadri Bhongiri district emerged as the top-performing district in Telangana during the Special Intensive Revision drive, having completed 94.30 percent of its digitisation work.

The status report, updated up to 2 p.m. on August 9, 2026, detailed the top five assembly constituencies in Hyderabad district with the highest number of ASD electors. Jubilee Hills recorded the highest number of missing voters with 1,80,861 ASD electors. It was followed by Chandrayangutta with 1,48,863 ASD electors, Yakutpura with 1,42,215 ASD electors, Karwan with 1,41,293 ASD electors, and Musheerabad with 1,40,844 ASD electors.

The window for electors to submit their completed SIR enumeration forms is scheduled to close on August 10 at 6 p.m.
