Hyderabad Police Step Up Security and Drone Surveillance for Milad-un-Nabi

Hyderabad police are stepping up security arrangements for the Milad-un-Nabi procession scheduled for August 26, deploying drones and CCTV cameras to monitor the route, Hyderabad City Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar said on Saturday following a coordination meeting at the Telangana Integrated Command and Control Centre in Banjara Hills.
Meeting with representatives of the Markaz-e-Milad Juloos Committee, the Commissioner urged organisers to ensure the procession is conducted peacefully and concludes within the designated timeframe. He stated that the procession must start on time and highlighted strict restrictions on excessive noise.
In line with Supreme Court and government regulations, high-decibel DJs and sound systems will not be permitted. The police also issued warnings against traffic violations, noting that minors driving vehicles, triple-riding on two-wheelers, and rash driving with modified silencers will not be tolerated. Bike rallies before the scheduled date have also been prohibited.
Due to ongoing monsoon conditions, organisers were advised to exercise caution while installing electrical decorations and ensure religious flags do not touch overhead power lines. Volunteers managing food distribution points have been instructed to coordinate closely with traffic police to prevent vehicular congestion.
Surveillance is being reinforced across sensitive zones through CCTV networks and drones. The police will also track social media platforms for provocative or hateful content and keep watch on known troublemakers.
To streamline vehicle movement, special stickers are being issued in advance for vehicles taking part in the procession. The department has also set up a dedicated coordination WhatsApp group and a helpline for emergency communication.
Senior police officials, including Additional CP Tafseer Iqbal, Joint CP Joel Davis, and several Deputy Commissioners of Police representing Charminar, Rajendranagar, Shamshabad, Golconda, and Traffic divisions, attended the meeting alongside community representatives.
