Hyderabad police seize 23 kg marijuana near Nagole X Road, two drivers arrested

The Special Operations Team (SOT) LB Nagar, acting jointly with the Nagole police, has busted an inter-state drug supply chain operating between Odisha and Hyderabad. Officers intercepted two vehicles near Nagole X Road on Tuesday night, arresting two drug peddlers and seizing 23 kg of marijuana with an estimated value of Rs 11.51 lakh.

The operation was carried out after law enforcement authorities received a tip-off concerning the transport of contraband into the city. Acting on the information, police intercepted the suspected vehicles near Nagole X Road. A search of the two vehicles led to the recovery of the concealed marijuana.

Police identified the two arrested suspects as Trinath Nirike and Sona Hunthal. Both men are drivers from Koraput district in Odisha. Investigations revealed that the suspects had brought the illegal contraband directly from Odisha to Hyderabad, intending to sell the consignment to local customers.

According to police officials, the two suspects were operating on the directions of a man named Kammu, who is currently absconding. Nagole police have registered a case and further investigation into the drug supply chain is ongoing.
