Hyderabad Police Search For Shahbad Mass Murder Suspect After Suicide Attempt

Fourteen police search teams have intensified their operations in Hyderabad following the mass murder of six people in the Shahbad area on Friday night. The suspect, identified as 35-year-old P Raj Kumar, is wanted for the killings of a minor girl, her mother, her grandmother, as well as his own wife and his two children.
Following the Friday night killings, unconfirmed reports emerged stating that Raj Kumar attempted to commit suicide by consuming pesticide. According to these reports, the suspect is currently undergoing medical treatment in a hospital.
Before the reports of his hospitalisation, Raj Kumar was last seen on the railway tracks at the Timmapur railway station. Police officials stated that after committing the murders on Friday night, Raj Kumar made a phone call to his parents and informed them about the incident. Immediately after making the call, he switched off his mobile phone, prompting the police to deploy 14 teams to search for him.
The police also revealed that Raj Kumar had been recently released on bail on May 15. The bail was granted to him in connection with a Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) case that had been registered against him.
According to the registered First Information Report (FIR), the mother of the deceased minor girl had alleged that Raj Kumar had been harassing her daughter for the last year. The mother also stated in the FIR that Raj Kumar had threatened to kill everyone in the family if the minor girl refused to accept his love proposal.
The search by the 14 police teams remains active as authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the six killings and the subsequent reports of Raj Kumar's hospitalisation.
