Hyderabad Police Register Over 1,700 Zero FIRs via C-Mitra Helpdesk

More than 1,700 Zero FIRs have been registered through 'C-Mitra', a virtual helpdesk launched by the Hyderabad police to speed up cybercrime investigations, Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar announced on Saturday. He shared the update while addressing the gathering at the CAR Headquarters in Petlaburj during the Independence Day celebrations.

Sajjanar explained that the C-Mitra system was introduced to facilitate quicker complaint registration and streamline investigations into cyber offences across the city. The police have also rolled out 'Operation Octopus', an initiative designed to track and dismantle the financial networks of cyber criminals and disrupt their economic sources.

Highlighting initiatives for women's safety, the commissioner noted that the 'Spandana' women responder system, launched by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, is currently receiving an average of 30 complaints daily and delivering prompt assistance. He added that special driving training will soon be provided to 300 women police personnel to support operational readiness.

Sajjanar also outlined other ongoing enforcement priorities, stating that the police force has adopted a zero-tolerance approach to food adulteration through the dedicated H-FAST wing. In addition, the Hyderabad Narcotics Enforcement Wing (H-NEW) has been further strengthened to combat the trafficking and consumption of illegal drugs across the city.

During the event, the commissioner presented commendation certificates to 72 police officers in recognition of their outstanding performance and dedication to duty. The programme was attended by senior officials, including Charminar Zone DCP Khare Kiran Prabhakar, CAR Headquarters DCP R Venkateshwarlu, Task Force DCP Gaikwad Vaibhav Raghunath, and DCP (Administration) K Venkata Lakshmi.
