Hyderabad Police Identify 12 Fake Doctors in Surveillance Drive

Hyderabad Police have launched legal proceedings against 12 fake medical practitioners identified during a special surveillance operation, Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar announced. The Commissioner issued a warning appealing to the public to remain alert and cautious against unqualified persons providing treatment without proper credentials.

According to Sajjanar, unqualified individuals have been impersonating certified medical professionals and treating patients despite lacking required educational qualifications and medical knowledge. These individuals were found prescribing antibiotics, steroids, and medicines for blood pressure and diabetes, in addition to administering injections and intravenous fluids without conducting proper medical assessments.

The Commissioner cautioned that such irresponsible treatment practices could lead to serious health complications among patients seeking care.

To avoid fraudulent practitioners, citizens have been urged to verify the credentials of medical practitioners before undergoing treatment. Sajjanar advised the public to check whether clinics and hospitals prominently display the official registration certificate issued by the District Medical and Health Officer (DMHO) at their reception areas.

Additionally, doctors' display boards must clearly state their names, educational qualifications, and registration numbers issued by the Telangana State Medical Council (TSMC).

Citizens can also verify the authenticity of practitioners by visiting the official TSMC website and using the Doctor Search facility to check records by name or registration number. Sajjanar advised people to exercise caution if a practitioner's details are not available on the official platform.
